Yesterday we met with Dr. Moses Goldberg, a homeopath in Napa. He's a very compassionate & understanding doctor, he listened and he had a lot of knowledge. We both really liked the doctor so that's a big plus.
Secretly I was wishing he would tell us that this was all a big mistake and he had the "magic" pill to fix it. What he recommends is IV's of vitamin C several times a week. They would put a port in Mitt's arm so we could administer the IV's from home. Dr. Goldberg said the Gerson Therapy is a good start. He also recommends a large assortment of vitamins and herbs. It was all very overwhelming; there's so many things he thinks we should try, it was a little bit of an overload for us. We have a lot of information to go over and Mike will decide what he wants to do.
Mitt had a bit of a rough night last night, the drive to Napa was draining. He took his 2 Norco and 2 Morphine as usual and it didn't quite take the edge off and he had a lot of break through pain.
Highlights this week were...Sister in love, Pam visited and spoiled us with her gifts of organic foods, Gerson goodies and her love. Many thanks Pam, you're a living angel.
Roadwife Jon came by bearing gifts yesterday. Thank you Jon and all!
Also Mitt's golf buddy, Mike Reid aka "Pepsi" left a care package and a note at our door last night.
Thank you "Pepsi", after the trip to Napa; Mike found your gift at the door, it means a lot to both of us.

ReplyDeleteThis is not God's will. The word of God says that Satan comes to steal, kill and destroy. But God, God comes to give life and life more abundantly. The word also says that Satan has been defeated and is under our feet. So knowing all this I know that God wants Mike to be healthy, He wants him to live life abundantly. So I pray that God would heal Mike. That what Satan has tried to destroy God would restore. Jesus suffered so that we would have healing. I claim healing in Mikes body. AMEN!

ReplyDeleteI think about you all every day and you're constantly in my prayers. I hardly know you guys but because of Jelly Belly you all feel like family. I often ask God why bad things happen to such good people ... but I guess we'll never know why. My mom always told me that God never gives you more than you can handle, but I really think you've become the exception to that rule! I admire your strength through this challenging time. I don't know if there is anything that I can do besides pray but if there is anything please don't hesitate to ask. Laura Lane

ReplyDeleteI hope your alternative medicine approach gives you relief from pain and improved quality of life at the least, and potential resolution of symptoms and disease for long-term hope! My office manager has been dealing with myorhabdosarcoma in her arm for 3 years now, and has decided to pursue non-traditional therapies as well. She feels better than she did after chemo, and seems to have a coherent treatment plan for now. (You guys must have more accepted alternative approaches out west...Mary calls her homeopathic physician her "voodoo doctor!" Hey....whatever gets proper results!) Keep the faith, hope for tomorrow! We'll try to keep in touch with Jeanine and Mark; she has kept us informed and I know it's gotta be difficult for her. We continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers!
